The Polyteknisk Forening (PF) of DTU and the Office for International Education, DTU are looking for two student helpers to plan and execute Introduction Week, Coordinate Masters’ Students Cabin Trips and Create two social events per semester. If you have an inclusive mindset, can work effectively in a highly international environment, and love to plan events that help shape people’s first semesters at DTU, we’d love to hear from you!


The Task
Introduction Week is a platform for diversity and inclusion at DTU and is for anyone enrolled in their masters programme. Introduction Week therefore, has a broad target group: Local masters students, International Masters Students and exchange students. Typically, Introduction Week is planned as two parallel events Masters Students (1.) and Exchange Students (2.)

  1. Masters Students: the event must have relevance for all masters students at DTU i.e. it is an academic and social networking conference with strong academic content and room for creating inclusive communities.
  2. Exchange Students: the event must include elements to meet the students where they are: reflection over their exchange semester, expectations from themselves and DTU as well as have strong academic content and room for creating inclusive communities.

Furthermore, you’ll be collaborating on the following tasks:

  • Event Creation: in collaboration with relevant partners (e.g. Carbon Team DTU) two events must be created to with goal of ‘bringing people together’.
  • Cabin Trip Creation: in collaboration with several coordinators (of whom you recruit) you ensure the successful planning and execution of cabin trips for Masters Students/Exchange Students.

Competencies
If you’d love to work with the tasks above you should preferably have:

  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Experience with, or a strong desire to learn about project planning
  • A flair for planning processes to ensure a well-executed product
  • (desirable) knowledge of inclusion and diversity and creating inclusive communities
  • (desirable) multilingual (Danish and English, other languages are a plus!)

Employment
Start: March 14th 2022

Deadline: March 3rd 2022, Midnight

You will be employed under PF’s main organization, with your main supervisor being the Arrivals and Orientations Coordinator in the Office for International Education, DTU. This position is a unique mix of both PF and DTU and has historically being a glowing example of what we can do when we work together! You will be expected to continue this tradition.

Hours: An average 12 hours a week for 30 weeks each year. It is expected that public holidays, the month of May (due to exam preparation and exams) and the month of July are holidays.
Period of Employment: 1 year, with possibility for extension.

Workplace: Your workplace will be at DTU Lyngby. It is required that you are available to work during normal working hours (0900-1600) as you will be working and collaborating with full time employees, staff, researchers, professors and Heads of Studies.

Wages: Wages are under the HK Union agreements under Danish law.
